Weekend: The JAG Fund
I had the pleasure of donating a raffle basket from The Little Apple & attending The JAG Fund Gala this past weekend held at the iconic Union League on Broad Street.
This amazing grassroots organization is a network of family, friends and neighbors united in remembrance, inspired by hope and passionately committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. The mission of the JAG Fund is to celebrate the life of Joel A. Gingras Jr., raise vital funding for brain tumor research and increase public awareness of the disease. Working independently and together with other professional organizations, the JAG Fund provides support for brain tumor research in hopes of creating a brighter tomorrow. Since 1989, the organization has donated more than $1.2 million to the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) through the untiring efforts of generous individual and corporate sponsors. In recognition of The JAG Fund’s hard work, the ABTA established the Joel A. Gingras Jr. Research Fellowship in 1995. Super Tunes: Florence + The Machine
If I could sing, I would want to sing like Florence Welch. That voice!
That being said…I can’t wait to finally see her in concert in May & until then you can hear both her albums ” Lungs” & “Ceremonials” being played at The Little Apple.
I leave you with a sample from “Lungs: The B-Sides”, a secret little surprise released in February of 2011. Turn it way up & enjoy!
Florence + The Machine: Swimming

So Much for New Year’s Resolutions!
I told myself that 2012 would be the year to dedicate to The Little Apple’s digital existence. Seventy-eight days into 2012 & nary a post has been published. Oh when day-to-day life gets in the way of blogging! How do people keep up? And maintain worthwhile content?
With the official First Day of Spring approaching, I’ve told myself (again!) that it’s time to get moving!

I got some great advice from a friend & barista at Cafe Volo in Manayunk to just start by referencing & sharing other blogs & websites that I (and hopefully The Little Apple customers) will find interesting!
So stayed tuned! The Little Apple Blog is coming to a computer near you for Spring 2012!
